I worked for my late Uncle Lee Kim Tah in 1963 as his personal assistant and also to Lee Soon Teck.
Edwin as a youth always honored and respected me as part of the Lee family because I lived with the Lee family. I recalled so clearly in 1978 he volunteered to serve in the Billy Graham Crusade. That evening he brought about 40 youth who committed their lives to Jesus. The next day, he called me and asked for my help and I agreed. He came at 800am before the office starts at 900am. He handed all the names which were badly scribbled. After I did them and finished within an hour he thanked me profusely and gave me a hug. I really tasted the love of Jesus through Edwin and it melted my heart and I treasured it till this day.
When Edwin joined the family business and soon was recognized as a boss with a big jolly voice, a big jolly heart, and was loved and respected by the staff, cleaners, and workers.
I left in 1980 due to my family commitment.
I remembered I visited Edwin in Mt Elizabeth and prayed with him before his surgery 12 years ago.
We often keep in touch and he asked about me. He sent me yearly Christmas greetings and I remembered to send him yearly greetings on his birthday. He often reminded me to pray for his parents and children. His last text was 5 May 2021 and then to know of his sudden passed on to glory was a total shock brought grief to my heart. Glad to have the opportunity to bid my last farewell at the wake and to see him sleeping so peacefully like a heavenly priesthood.
Edwin will be a great treasure in my heart as he always addressed me "My dearest Ah Khauw and ended I love you." These beautiful words echoing in my ears and brought tears to my heart whenever I think of them.
Dear Edwin, rejoice in the heavenly kingdom with God the Father and the Son Lord Jesus Christ for your servanthood leadership on earth has been finished and fulfilled and now you received the crown of glory. AMEN!
